BUY A TREE. CHANGE A LIFE. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded in 2012. They are dedicated to helping children globally and locally through volunteer mobilization by way of an annual Christmas tree sale.

THE STORY
In 2012, a family at Life Pointe Church in Homestead, FL was adopting a child from Ethiopia. $25,000 was needed for the adoption. The church they attended decided to sell Christmas trees to raise the money. 450 Christmas trees were sold and $25,000 was raised.
Due to the success of BUY A TREE. CHANGE A LIFE., a non-profit organization called ForHope.us was founded. We have joined together with other churches all over the country to raise money that will help children globally and locally. In 2021, we surpassed the 5-million-dollar mark for money given away to help children, and each year that number continues to grow!
HELPING CHILDREN GLOBALLY AND LOCALLY.
We help children in some of the most challenging places on the planet. The cooperative effort of our participating churches and sponsors makes a substantial impact. By ourselves we can do good things. But together we can do GREAT things! Teams have made trips to Cambodia and Israel and have seen first-hand the impact being made every day with the funds raised through BUY A TREE. There are people teaching English, sustainable farming, operating schools & children’s homes; there are people providing hands-on training and opportunities for locals to have a chance at a brighter future.
Each site determines how they can best serve the children of their community. Here in New Braunfels, we have held a back-pack give-away for the last 7 years! We have given away over 2,300 backpacks full of school supplies to children right here in our community. We have also partnered with TruLight127, a foster and adoption agency in our community. Your tree purchase continues changing lives long after the tree is gone.
In 2021, BUY A TREE. CHANGE A LIFE. raised $1,877,475! This would not have been possible without the help of our generous donors & sponsors! 2021 was our 6th year participating in BUY A TREE. Together with the love & generosity of our community members and sponsors, we sold 285 Christmas trees and gave away $43,450 to missions both globally & locally, bringing our five-year year total to over $149,000! We partnered with TruLight127, a local foster care village and adoption agency, and we were able to give away over $10,000 to support children right here in our own community. We’re thrilled to continue that partnership in 2022! In August, we held our 7th Annual Backpack Give-Away where we gave away hundreds of backpacks full of supplies. We’re so excited for tree sales to begin and we cannot wait to see what’s in store! Help us make 2022 the most successful year yet!
